Nat's Little Bit Farm

Nat's Little Bit is a diverse hobby farm that has evolved from old 4-H, and FFA projects years ago to form a new passion for raising show quality ADGA & AGS Registered Dairy Goats. This involvement with animals had begun as a child and has followed me through many projects in 4-H, evolving to being acknowledged Nationally in the FFA for a proficiency award in Diversified Livestock Production during high school, to enrollment at the University of Connecticut double majoring in Animal Science (primary) and Agricultural Resource Economics (secondary) and now continues with my job with the USDA, APHIS, Veterinary Services. Throughout the years our farm has been home to many projects that have ranged from horses, poultry, sheep, pigs, llamas, calves to goats!

Our herd is expected to not only do well in the show ring, but excel in the milk pail. We try to attend as many ADGA/AGS shows as we can throughout New England and any National Shows within the region. This past year was an exciting one as we put a few more legs on our milkers and were lucky enough to breed the 2005 AGS National Jr. Champion Oberhasli. We also participate in Linear Appraisal yearly as we feel it is an important evaluation tool. We look forward to being on DHI this spring. Hopefully we can finish a few ladies early this year when we won't be short on being official !

The herd is on the Scrapie Flock Certification Program Herd CT-34. We test yearly for CAE & Johnes through the Connecticut Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. All 2005 Kids tested negative for CAE. Our dairy herd was also Johnes Negative.

Reserved kids will be raised on a strict CAEV prevention program separate from herd mates unless otherwise requested.
